Coach Chaney has won more than 850 wins in his 28 seasons as a Head Coach. In those seasons he has coached 20 players that have either played or got drafted to the NBA and another 50 plus that have played International Professionally. In the 2006 NBA Draft he coached 3 out of the top 31 picks in the draft and he has coached over 150 Division players.

During his coaching tenure he has won several National Championships, 4 GAC Regular season championships and 4 GAC Tournament championships, 3 straight Maryland Private school state championships, 2 Beltway  Regular season championships and 2 Beltway Tournament championships, among other titles. He also has had 8 different teams that have been ranked number one in the country during the season and has taking more schools to the National Prep Championship tournament than any coach. In his last 5 years at Scotland Campus he won over 91% of his games.

Coach Chaney has also won several National Coach of the year awards and several Conference coach of the year awards also he has also done clinics all over the world and has won Gold medals several times coaching US All Star teams in International tournaments. His 2005 Laurinburg Institute team has been called the best pre-college team of all time that went 40-0 and included 15 Division players and 5 players that either played or got drafted to the NBA.

Coach Chaney is known as one of the top coaches in the game and is known for molding his players to be successful at the next level.

Coach Chaney has also coached many of the top  camps in the country including, Nike, ABCD, Five Star and the Fab Frosh Camp. He also coached in the USBL with Hall of Famer Robert Parish, where as a expansion team won the Division title and Parish was coach of the year. He was also featured on ESPN Scholastic Sports America in his first year coaching.
